U-Brackets

A U-Bracket can be used to hold wooden roof beams, perfect for turnbuckles.

Turnbuckles have a right- and left-hand thread that pull and therefore tighten the frame of the roof, making it more secure, as pictured.

The size of the U-Bracket will depend on the strength needed for the turnbuckle, which we can source for you.

The water cooled busbar pictured is used in glass manufacturing equipment and must be able to withstand a high temperature operating environment.

The busbar is machined in copper before being deep hole drilled to allow water to pass through the busbar for cooling purposes. The metal pieces of the busbar are heated to 600° Celsius for welding.

The busbar’s contact points are silver soldered and the unit can be plated in a range of metals including silver and nickel sulfemate to AMS 2403 to prevent corrosion and provide good electrical conductivity.

The busbar pictured was also pressure tested to 125 PSIG prior to dispatch to our customer.

Our Cleaning stations are the perfect way to organise and display cleaning products, (hand sanitiser and cleaning agents) as well as safety equipment, (Gloves, face masks and hard hats).

Our cleaning station workbenches come in white gloss paint, making it easy to wipe down and keep up to hygiene standards.

The standard size for our cleaning stations is 700mm wide by 1400mm long by 900 high.

Alongside our standard units, we also manufacture bespoke specialist workbenches to any dimensions and with a range of options.

The cleaning stations can be fully customized depending on your needs.

We also offer technical advice on the repair and replacement of current OEM Parts used in driveshafts, including assistance in designing a new component.

Our driveshaft parts can be made using any specified material such as EN8 medium carbon steel or a range of stainless steels. They are often sand casted and initially proof-machined to eliminate any porosity defects.

Additional holes, keyways and other modifications can be machined using our Haas VF9 or Goratu GBM32 Bed Mill CNC machines.

We have one of the largest turning capacities in the north west of England and are able to machine driveshaft parts on site which are up to 1 metre in diameter, 3 metres in length, and 5 tonnes in weight.

To ensure the highest quality, our driveshaft parts can be finished using a number of processes.

We offer precision grinding for fine finishes, while parts are often stress-relieved to remove residual stresses and stop distortions or future cracking in operation.

Our parts can also undergo ferritic nitrocarburizing before testing and dispatch. Also known as the Tufftride or Tennifer process, this hardening process improves the part’s longevity by increasing its resistance to fatigue, corrosion, wear and scuffing.

A distribution transformer provides the final voltage transformation in an electric power distribution network, changing the voltage to a level which can be used by households, businesses and in industrial settings.

The tank is a critical component of the distribution transformer housing the core, windings and cooling oil.

Lewis & Raby’s distribution transformer tanks are fabricated from laser cut carbon steel. All our tanks are shot-blasted before being painted and protected from corrosion according to our customers’ specifications.

We also manufacture all metal components for the distribution transformer including terminal cable boxes, turrets, covers and conservators.

Our distribution transformer tanks are made to our customers’ specifications in accordance with the ISO 9001 standard.

The needle holder is machined in stainless steel with a threaded end for the attachment of needles.

In addition to an insulation plate, the holder is manufactured with internal pipework for cooling purposes as the molten glass and ceramics can reach temperatures of up to 2300°C.

The needle holder is pressure tested to 300psi.

The brackets are used for structural support and are designed to hold very heavy loads safely.

We use gallows brackets to secure our pipework, and they have a range of commercial and industrial applications.

The bracket itself is welded together for strength and can also be welded or bolted into a wall or other surfaces.

The gallows bracket pictured is 600mm long by 600mm high by 75mm wide. The welded support beam is 690mm long and 6mm thick.

All our steel gallows brackets are fully welded in our factory to your specific requirements.

The gallows bracket can be galvanised and painted in any colour required by the customer.

Lewis & Raby is a manufacturer of gantries and platforms to British Standard for a range of commercial and industrial applications.

We Manufacture for Factories, offices, shops and churches.

Our gantry platforms can be manufactured in a variety of metals including mild or stainless steel.

For walkways and access stairways we offer aluminium treadplates and galvanised hand-railing.

Vertical access ladders can be manufactured with safety hoops and can be galvanised to prevent corrosion when they are located in harsh environmental conditions.

Gantry platforms can be load-tested if necessary and paint-finished in a colour of your choice. They are usually pre-fabricated and assembled on site in compliance with health and safety regulations.

We construct all our gantries and platforms to our customers’ specific requirements.

The pictured unit is constructed from 30 x 30 x 5 mild steel angle with 2” x 2” x 10 swg weld mesh.

It is suitable for storing 6 standard size gas cylinders, but we manufacture bespoke gas cylinder storage cages to any size.

It is designed to be bolted to the floor or a wall, especially in factory locations.

The front door can be easily secured with a padlock, protecting gas cylinders from theft and vandalism.

We offer a range of additional options including:
