Lewis & Raby is a manufacturer of a variety of valves for the power, energy and water industries.
Timing valves restrict and control the flow of liquids such as oil and water in pipework systems.
The timing valve pictured is used in a hydroelectric plant to regulate water flow. The inside of the valve – including the safety piston mechanism – was manufactured in stainless steel.
The outer part of the valve was cast and then machined in admiralty bronze. The bronze was impregnated with acrylic to cure any small pores in the castings.
The valve was pressure tested before delivery to our customer.
